Empower the Credit Union Movement
Celebrate #ICUDay on October 15, 2020, with Viriva.
Educate at least three or more people about the credit union movement and how credit unions are different.
Each year we come together to raise awareness about International Credit Union Day (ICU Day) and what it means for members around the world to have a credit union as their financial partner. This year’s global health crisis has been trying for many communities around the world, but credit unions stayed true to their principles and stepped up during this time of economic uncertainty. This year’s international credit union theme is “Inspiring hope for a global community”, and it reflects how credit unions contribute to a brighter future by providing financial empowerment to people all over the world through financial services, education, and support.
Here at Viriva, we have been supporting our members' dreams and goals for over 80 years. Owned by and working for our members, we help you take control of your finances. Through truth, direction, and guidance, we empower members to reach their dreams, whatever they may be. We are here for our members as their trusted financial partner for all of life's needs, whether it is buying a car, funding college education, purchasing a home, or saving for retirement. Simply put – we are your financial partner for life.
We encourage you to use the information listed below to educate your family, friends, and co-workers about the Credit Union Difference.
► We are owned by our members.
When you join Viriva, you become a shareholder (member-owner) along with all of our other members. It doesn’t matter if you have $5.00 or $500,000 in your account!
► We exist to serve our members, not to make a profit.
Surplus income gets returned to our members in the form of lower service fees, higher interest rates on deposit accounts, and lower loan rates! We are what’s called a "Not-for-profit financial cooperative."
► We believe in People Helping People.
The credit union industry as a whole was built on the principle of “people helping people”, which we at Viriva try to live and breathe in our words and actions on a daily basis.
► Our board is comprised of volunteers.
Our board is made up of volunteers, who are also members of Viriva, with a genuine interest of working towards the betterment of our credit union for all members. Every year, information is provided to our membership regarding Board elections.
